Mazda's flagship three-row crossover, the CX-9, received a complete redesign for 2016, and the results appear to be quite positive, according to a recent early review from Consumer Reports. Click "play" in the video clip below to watch the full report.
The 2016 CX-9 is powered by a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 227 horsepower on regular fuel and 250 horsepower on premium. This replaces the heavy and fuel-hungry 3.7-liter V6 engine in the previous model. The effect is an SUV that is lighter, more nimble and quicker. The reduced weight allowed additional sound insulation, which makes for a noticeably quieter cabin.
