Here at Sill-TerHar Mazda it is important to us to keep an eye on all the cars that Mazda has in development. Not only do we love it when new Mazda models make their debut, but we know that our fans enjoy being in the loop as well. So today we are here with some exciting news about everybody's favorite convertible: the Mazda MX-5 Miata.
The Mazda MX-5 Miata (better known as just the Miata) was first introduced to the American automotive marketplace at the Chicago Auto Show all the way back in 1989. Since then, the popularity of this little drop-top has grown by leaps and bounds. It is one of America's favorite convertibles and it is one of our favorite cars in the Mazda lineup.
Recently, Officials from Mazda announced that twenty-six years after its initial debut, the fourth-generation MX-5 Miata will be revealed at the 2015 Chicago Auto Show. One company insider has already called the newest Mazda "our best-looking car ever."
But it's not just looks that will be improved on this next-gen Miata. We know that the curb weight has been reduced down to 2,420 lbs. making it the lightest car in its class. That reduction in weight as well as an updated drivetrain setup will mean a big gain in efficiency (as much as 30 percent). Like the current Miata, the new Mazda Miata will be available to Broomfield drivers as either a hard or soft top.
