Interesting news to report here today at Sill-TerHar Mazda for our Broomfield, CO Mazda6 fans, as the automaker has announced that the all new diesel iteration of the model will now delayed until an April 2014 release date, as Mazda has some reasons to believe that the model isn't 100 percent completely perfect, and as such, they will not deliver it to their customers.

Fear not though, by the time this extremely efficient and stylish diesel powered sedan does hit dealer lots, it will be perfected.

The all new sedan will feature Mazda's excellent SKYACTIV technology with a 2.2-liter diesel engine, and is being rescheduled for some extended final emissions testing and certifications. Like we said before, Mazda holds their models to a very high standard before they release them to the public.

This will only be a temporary delay though, and only a small interruption in Mazda's stated plan of being the first Japanese car company to have a diesel car available for purchase in the US.

Robert Davis, senior vice president of U.S. operations for Mazda North American Operations, elaborates, saying recently, "I know we had discussed it being in showrooms before the end of the year, and everyone involved in the program is disappointed it will not be, but final certification testing -- the results of which are looking encouraging -- is taking longer than we had initially expected."1
