Here at Sill-TerHar Mazda, proudly serving the entire Broomfield, CO area, we think each and every one of our new Mazda models are great, with one perfectly suited for pretty much any walk of life. Still, just because something is great, doesn't mean there isn't a bit of room for improvement, and that's just what some engineers at Mazda had in mind when they recently decided they wanted to make the lineup a bit more sporty, and even more fun to drive.

How exactly did they propose to do that? Well, the engineers at Mazda are now considering adding more rear-wheel drive models to the Mazda offerings, and we personally think that anything that makes our quick, responsive, and efficient Mazda models more fun to drive is OK by us.

There are some detractors to this idea though (including Mazda executives) and they certainly have good reason for feeling the way that they do. Redesigning all new architecture for both factories, and individual models to convert from front to rear wheel drive is incredibly, incredibly expensive. And also, recent Mazda offerings that are front wheel drive like the Mazda3, Mazda6, and Mazda CX-5 have been incredibly well-received by consumers and critics alike, so apart from the engineers at the company who are always looking to innovate, there's not a huge push on the manufacturer to make this change.

It certainly would be a fun one though, wouldn't it? All Mazda MX-5 Miata offerings have been rear wheel drive, and they are legendary in their joy they bring to drivers. Come visit us soon at Sill-TerHar Mazda, serving all of Broomfield, CO.
