Although the crossover automobile segment is a relatively new one, it is also an incredibly popular one with consumers, and as such, automakers have flooded the market with what have essentially become interchangeable CUV models. It makes sense, what's not to love about a car which is built on an agile sedan platform but features the utility of an SUV model?

However, there is one model that stands apart in this crowded segment: the 2014 Mazda CX-5.

There are a number of ways the innovative model differentiates itself from other models within its segment. Displaying furiously-angled head lights that are the perfect complement to the sloping front-end and grille, the front fascia is definitely something that will turn heads. This crossover model also features a wider, more aggressive stance that sits atop 17-inch enhanced alloy wheels.

Moving towards the interior of the vehicle, the stand-out features continue. Under the hood, the engine cranks out up to 155-horsepower and 150-lb. feet of torque, supplying some of the most ample power in the segment. There are also available upgrade packages (the Touring and Grand Touring trims) which will create 184-horsepower and 185-lb. feet of torque with their sporty 2.5-liter direct-inject engine.
