Winter Survival Gear to Keep in Your Car for Winter Driving

We at Sill-TerHar Mazda are always concerned with winter driving conditions in Broomfield and around the country. There are many ways to prepare for difficult driving conditions, starting with a winter survival kit. Your kit should include items for yourself, your passengers and to assist you in getting your car back on the road.

Food, water, blankets, and warm clothing should be the first items to collect for your kit. Also include gloves, hats, and boots if your footwear isn't ideal for the weather. A portable cellphone charger may help you stay connected in an emergency situation if you are waiting for help.

Your vehicle should have extra fluids, a good spare tire, a jack, tire chains, a shovel, and an ice scraper. Jumper cables or a portable battery charger will make it easy to get your car started again if the issue is your battery. Keep your gas tank full, just in case you need to wait for help.
